These 5 Blinds Shops in Belfast Helped Me Block Nosy Neighbours
I’ve always known from a young age that where privacy dwells is my happy place. I love my family, but when I finally moved out, it was such a freeing time! Unfortunately. I got cursed with the nosiest neighbours in town.
So here’s the deal—one of my side gigs is giving business consultations, which sometimes means having clients over. But every time someone pulls up outside, I catch an old couple (and a few other nosies) giving me the side-eye.
And with my big windows, their stares became hard to ignore. Luckily, I decided to get some solid blinds so everyone can go back to minding their own business. Here are the best blinds stores in Belfast I’ve tried so far.
How much does getting blinds cost in Belfast?
Getting blinds in Belfast can cost anywhere from £20 to 30 per blind, depending on the type, material used, and size.
Other factors include installation costs, automation features, and customisation.
1. Vista Blinds

Address: Unit 19, Enterprise, 8 Meadowbank Rd, Carrickfergus BT38 8YF
Contact Details: +44 28 9086 9831, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday – 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday – 9 AM to 3 PM, Saturday to Sunday – Closed
Vista Blinds has an extensive range of made-to-measure shutters and blinds in Belfast since 1968. It serves residential and commercial properties, including offices, schools, hospitality, public and local authority buildings.
That’s why if you need anything from fire retardant solutions to hygiene or light control, I reckon its team can handle both small and big projects.
I like that it’s a one-stop shop too. It does all the manufacturing, which involves designing, cutting, shaping, assembling, installing, and the like for efficiency.
In my opinion, there are more than enough choices here, whether you want something classic or modern. You may opt for Venetian, skylight, Roman, roller, and even vertical blinds to suit your interiors.
If interested, Vista Blinds can conveniently give complimentary home consultations for a stress-free experience.
Just one thing, though. A client shared with me his frustration when the technicians didn’t turn up for a scheduled appointment.
I think this could be a one-off scenario, but I believe the company should be more responsible. For example, they must offer alternative schedules to take accountability if such a thing happens.
Professional & Seamless

2. The Blind Spot

Address: Unit 4, East Belfast Enterprise Park, Albertbridge Rd Workshops
Contact Details: +44 28 9059 5255, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday – 8 AM to 5 PM, Friday – 9 AM to 1 PM, Saturday – 9 AM to 12 PM, Sunday – Closed
The Blind Spot is a well-established shutters and blinds company in Belfast with more than 30 years of expertise—definitely less room for ‘blind spots’ there, we say.
I also like that it offers various shapes, sizes, styles, fabrics, textures, and colours! With a large stock, it’s no wonder for me that it’s got a fast turnaround. Alternatively, I suggest having your blinds personalised so they suit your vision better.
It’s also handy for me that this shop is upfront with its fees. The vertical blinds for 3 windows start at £99, while the rollers and Venetians start at £30 and £35 respectively.
Plus, I appreciate you can have samples brought to your home! In my view, this is the easiest way to know if the blinds work for you—before buying a bunch of them right away.
However, there are times when its team can be late. While waiting for a few extra minutes may not be a big deal to some, I prefer that the staff do better in communicating their situation to keep the client in the loop.
Straightforward Process
“Had Shutters fitted by paul and we’re delighted with them. The whole process was straightforward and we’d definitely recommend and use Blindspot again”
-Ms. Samantha Watson, Google Review
Got the Job Done Fast
“Great job and very reasonable price. It didn’t take long from when they came to measure and quote til when the blinds were ready. Dave the installer was very friendly and got the job done really fast. Would definitely recommend The Blind Spot.”

3. Smartblinds

Address: Unit 5, Emerson House, 14b Ballynahinch Rd, Carryduff, Belfast BT8 8DN, United Kingdom
Contact Details: +44 28 9081 4809, 07597 979 906, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 9 AM to 5 PM, Saturday – 9 AM to 1 PM, Sunday – Closed
Smartblinds offers locally manufactured blinds in Belfast for domestic and commercial uses. Its notable options include wooden Venetian, roller, aluminium, skylights, perfect fit, and vertical blinds.
I find its large online gallery very handy as well. I appreciate that the photos look pretty raw (or with minimal enhancements at best) to give clients a workable idea of how the binds could work into their space.
A client I had a chat with also told me about the company’s quick installations and constant updates. Given that this family-run business is a tad smaller than others, I think that’s pretty impressive!
Nevertheless, I noticed that the opening hours online may not match the company’s actual hours sometimes. If you plan to drive to the location, I recommend giving the staff a heads-up first.
And along with that, I believe it’s smart to get a free quotation in advance to help you manage your expectations.
Absolutely Delighted
“Absolutely delighted with my blinds from Smart Blinds!! Chris & Christopher were so friendly and helpful. Great quality blinds, very efficient service and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend Smart Blinds. 5 stars!!”
-Ms. Katherine Haslett, Google Review

4. Fraser Nolan Shutters

Address: 184 Lisburn Rd
Contact Details: +44 28 9087 4244, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday – 9:30 AM to 1 PM, 2 PM to 5 PM, Friday – 9:30 AM to 1 PM, 2 PM to 4:30 PM, Saturday to Sunday – Closed
Fraser Nolan Shutters is all about custom-made blinds and shutters, so I bet its team can cater to windows of any size and shape.
You can choose the material, colour, louvre (individual slats or panels) size, frame size, and ironmongery (hardware or fittings securing the blinds) to make the blinds as specific as possible.
Among its most popular ones are made of classic MDF (medium-density fibreboard) and lightweight wood. I also love that this is available in up to 24 colours and 22 wood stains. This way, you’ll get the perfect shade in no time!
Other than that, I think it’s useful that its website gallery is well-organized. It categorises the blinds in specific rooms like kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and the like to make it easier to visualise the outcomes.
Should you want to explore its services, I recommend checking the company website for deals and discounts. For one, it sometimes gives a 20% discount during spring!
Still, a client I talked to claims that the services she got were overpriced. There are many factors to consider when it comes to project costs, though. So, I believe it’s wise to shop around for other quotes first so you can properly compare and contrast.
So Pleased
“So pleased with our shutters from Fraser Nolan! We got cafe style shutters for the bay windows in our living room and bedroom in our Victorian terrace home, they look fabulous, really suit the style of our house. Love them!”
-Ms. Yvonne Ballantine, Google Review

5. Finesse Blinds and Curtains

Finesse Blinds and Curtains has been a top spot for various window-covering needs for more than 2 decades now.
I like that it’s got a diverse clientele, making the team knowledgeable about most styles, whether you want timeless elegance, modern minimalism, or functional convenience.
Besides the curtains and blinds, I’m also in awe of its state-of-the-art motorised options. This lets clients effortlessly control their blinds with the touch of a button, making the experience smoother.
Beyond window coverings, I reckon it’s handy that its fitting services cover other things. This involves the installation of pictures, shelving, and handrails, as well as furniture assembly, offering a one-stop solution to improve your space.
Nonetheless, the team can still make mistakes now and then. A previous client informed me that she initially got 2 blinds of mismatched lengths.
I think the team should enhance its quality checks to ensure fewer mishaps like this. Also, the replacements should be quick and seamless.
