I’m not a fan of running errands—I’d rather watch paint dry. OK, I know they’re part of life, but I’d really rather be working and driving to client meetings. But when my dogs’ hair started sticking to my seats, I knew it was probably time to get my auto cleaned up.
The thing is, I’ve been to a couple of vehicle cleaners and they just can’t seem to get the job done. For one, my seats still look like they’re made out of dog fur! I really hate wasting time too, so I’ve got pretty high expectations.
Luckily, all my friends swear by their favourite car wash spots in Belfast so I asked for referrals. I’ve tried them all and reviewed my top picks here. Check them out!

Unfortunately, there are moments when its customer service misses the beat. A previous client shared his frustration with me about a particular staff member who was disrespectful to him over the phone.
While anyone can have a bad day, I still believe the company should train its staff better to be more professional in any situation—even and especially when dealing with an irate client.

PMG Autocare has been specialising in car detailing since 2010. Besides car washing in Belfast, it provides paint correction, stonechip and scratch repairs, ceramic coatings, and specialist vehicle detailing.
It’s incredible for me that the car wash crew here uses the finest pH-neutral snow foams, plush lambswool wash mitts, and touchless drying to maintain your car. In my opinion, this is amazing for luxury vehicles.
I also commend how detail-oriented the attendants are about maintenance. They consider many factors for cost breakdowns, like the vehicles’ size, age, mileage, colour, and paint type to give an accurate price quotation. This can take more time, though.
And if you like their work, I find the monthly maintenance packages useful to keep things efficient. Just remember that your vehicle must stick to a set maintenance schedule to qualify.
However, this shop can sometimes be very busy and unable to take on more orders due to understaffing. When this happens, you may check other options on our list.

Autokleen started as a small family business in Belfast in 1979. It focused on the cleaning and preparation of vehicles for car dealerships. And now, it’s among the leading valeting networks in Northern Ireland.
Its car wash services can include a full body wash, seat shampooing, polishing, auto detailing, wheel washing, and vacuuming. For me, it’s better to know which of these you need beforehand so the attendants can focus on the biggest problem points.
One previous client also told me that he got a speedy and professional service. In my opinion, this shows the crew’s expert skills and ability to work within schedule.
Apart from cleaning, the company provides maintenance work, precision line-ups and positioning, professional interior set-up, and the like.
I believe this shop is trusted by bigger businesses too, since it also does vehicle preparations for press events, launches, and motor shows.

Sandown Autocare is a luxury car detailing and valeting spot. It mainly offers car hand washing, wheel cleaning, ceramic coating, and buffing for all car sizes.
It’s also helpful for us that the company website has a bunch of before-and-after photos of previous car wash works. In my opinion, this can give potential clients a clear and quick idea of how much dirt or stain the crew can fix.
For me, one of its most impressive works is working with a vehicle that was occupied by 3 hairy dogs. I like that the techs provided thorough seat shampooing and auto interior vacuuming for that one.
A client also shared with me that she was very happy with the result of her car wash—it helped her sell her car 2 days later! In my view, that meant that the cleaning was good enough to make the vehicle look brand new (or close).
Just one thing, though. You’ll need to book ahead to make your drop-off and collection schedule. Walk-ins may not be accommodated here, since it’s a pretty small shop in Sandown.
